Mr. G. M. Hunt
Dear Cousin,
It is with much pleasure I take my pen in hand to write to you a few lines once more. I wrote to you some time since. I could get no answer from you. I then came to the conclusion that you did not get my letter. Grand Pa received your kind & affectionate letter a few days since. We got yours & poor Aunt Mary's pictures. We were very much rejoiced to think it would come to hand without being misplaced.
I am very sorry to hear that you were wounded during the last war. Although all of us were in it. That is, what I mean by us, Pa, Edmonds, Will H. Wooldridge, Thos. Booker and myself. We were all into it up to the eye. I recond you knew poor Aunt Tish is dead. She died two years last Oct.
Aunt Ocie is now sick in the bed. I have been very, very sick myself this winter, Grand Ma like wise. I saw Aunt Addie yesterday. Aunt Juriah & family are all well. Grand Pa started for the City of St. Louis. He will be at home in about ten days. Pa is now living in Cooper County, his Post Office is in Clarksfork. Aunt Sarah Woolridge lives in Cass County. Her P.O. is Harrisonville. They all join me in love to you & all the family.
Why is it you do not write more often than you do. & why do you not come out to see us some time. I must close by asking you to excuse all mistakes & bad writing. Answer soon. I remain as ever your cousin.
Wm. Lucy
