Narrative
Notes from Margaret Elizabeth Barrett Colvard - who appeared to be doing family research in the 1930's
John Johnson came to this country in 1630. Settled at Roxbury, Mass. (Now a part of Boston). Two sons and three daughters came with him. Margery his wife was buried June 6, 1655. He died Sep. 30 1659.
Isaac son of John. settled in Roxbury. married Jan.20 1636-7. Elizabeth Porter. She died Aug 13 1683. Isaac was killed by Indians Dec.19 1675. They had four sons and two daughters.
Isaac son of Isaac.m.Oct.26 1669.Mary Harris. They removed to Middletown Conn. in 1670. Isaac died there Feb.3 1719-20. Mary died Aug. 1 1740. They had seven sons and two daughters.
Joseph son of Isaac. was twice married. by first marriage had two sons and six daughters, He. m.2d.Aug.22 1722.Elizabeth Partridge, wido of John Hamlin.(Her father was a very prominent man in Mass.) by this marriage there were four sons and three daughters. Joseph died Nov.12 1739. His widow married again and left Middletown.
Ebenezer oldest son of Joseph and Elizabeth was born Feb.15 1723. married Oct.29 1745.Elizabeth Gilbert. She died Sep.24 1809.He died Mar.9 1811. Their son Timothy (your ancestor)was born Jul.5 1752. Josiah (my ancestor) was born Jan.27 1757.
