Christopher Gose was born on 30 Apr 1760 in Linn, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA. He died about 1817 in _____________, Russell County, Virginia, USA. He married Mary Elizabeth Litz about 1792 in ______________, Grayson County, Virginia, USA.--The Gose Book, The Descendants of Stephen Mathus and Mary Frances Gerking Gose, Decatur, Wise County, Texas, written and published by Thelma Pearl Chitwood Yost, p. 169.--Christopher Gose, b. 1765, d. 1817 in Russell County, Virginia. He was found dead sitting beside a tree on his farm by one one of his slaves. Christopher married Mary Elizabeth Litz, b. 1772, the daughter of William Litz and Maria Catherina Dininger. Christopher first settled on the Turkey Fork of Elk Creek in Montgomery County, now Grayson County, Virginia. He sold his 500 acre tract there in 1798 and bought land Aug. 27, 1799 in Russell County, Virginia. Their children were: James, Stephen, John H., William, Christopher, Rebecca, Eula, Margaret, Mary, Catherine and Nancy Gose. (source: Pioneers of the Virginia Bluegrass, George B.
