Narrative

Biographical Note:

Barbara was the daughter of Stephen Gose and Catherine Elizabeth (Spracher) Gose. She and Gideon Huddle were married 17 Dec 1795 in Cripple Creek, Wythe County, Virginia. They were parents of eleven children.

There is confusion on her mother. Either she was the last child born to Catherine, or the first one born to the second wife of Stephen, Elizabeth, who was a sister to Catherine. The names in the above paragraph may be a combination of the two wives. Likewize her dates are not in agreement from sources. Her birth and death dates from "The New Hottel History - George Line" by B Paul Huddle and published in 1998 are used in the memorial. But note on the picture of her marker that the dates on the bronze plaque are not the same as the first source.
