Biographical Sketch

Lamar County Marriage records-Book: 14 page: 14 Lamar County Marriage records-Book: 16 page: 603.
Mary Willie married first, William Henry Posey in Lamar County, Texas on 14 Jan 1894. After he died on 20 Aug 1898, she married Drury Gilbert Casey 23 Apr 1899 in Lamar County, Texas.
They sold his home near Roxton and bought a farm and home 11 miles NW of Paris in Fords Academy Community, Lamar County, Texas. She was worried that she would never see her mother and father again, but Mr. Casey assured her she could go home once a year. And according to her niece, Emma Moore Baer, she did come home for a week each year.
His and her children, along with their children was raised on the farm near Fords Academy Community or some say Caviness.
Mary is buried in the Casey Cemetery not far from that home, beside Mr. Casey. The marker for his first wife is beside them, but she, Elizabeth Morrison Casey, is buried in Harmon cemetery near Roxton. This was told to me by the grandson, Donald Casey, that had the marker erected in Casey Cemetery.
